About Selah’s Grace Ministries

Selah’s Grace Ministries was born the day our daughter Selah Grace was stillborn in August 2018.  We exist to support families who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss.  We desire that each family know that they are seen, they are loved, they are not alone, and their baby is treasured.

Our Mission

Selah’s Grace Ministries exists to support families who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss.  We desire that families do not feel like they have to walk the road of pregnancy and infant loss alone, but instead feel supported and equipped to walk the unexpected journey of pregnancy and infant loss.

Our goal is to ensure that families feel seen and loved, know they are not alone, and know their babies are treasured. Not only do we support individual families, but we also support hospital bereavement programs for maternity and NICU departments.  Support is provided to individuals and families through the donation of Selah Boxes (bereavement care packages) and donation of Cuddle Cots (TM).  All of these resources are provided to individuals and hospitals free of charge.

Our Vision

Selah’s Grace Ministries desires to support families who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss as they walk the journey of life after loss. We desire to come alongside families and be a source of encouragement and support so they do not feel like they are alone.

Our Story

Our journey began

On August 6, 2018. After a very healthy pregnancy, we heard the words that no parents want to hear; I am sorry, there is no heartbeat.  At that moment our world crumbled. Only 2 weeks before our scheduled induction, our fifth child would not be coming home with us. We left the doctor’s office and went straight to the hospital. That evening, at 6:29 PM, Selah Grace was born into Heaven.
She was born impossibly perfect and had the features of all of her siblings. Our time in the hospital was a whirlwind. While we were trying to make the precious few memories we would have with our daughter we were also faced with decisions that no parent ever wants to make; what funeral home would you like to use, how would we tell her siblings what happened, how would we walk out of the hospital without our baby. We didn’t have to navigate these decisions alone.
The hospital staff was with us every step of the way and our church family showed us what the church is truly supposed to be. When we left the hospital, we started the lifelong journey of life after loss. We started to feel our way through what it looks like to parent a child you don’t get to bring home.

Where We Are Now

Four days before Selah’s first birthday, we welcomed her little sister into our family and in March 2021 we welcomed one more daughter to our crew.  We now have seven children, including our sweet Selah Grace. We work hard each day to keep Selah a part of our family and ensure that her brothers and sisters know all about their sister who is in Heaven.  When Selah was stillborn, our desire to raise our daughter did not go away.  Now, we get to raise her by keeping her legacy alive and supporting other families who will walk this same road.
